The Southern California
Ukulele Festival, or SCUF, was conceived by Susan McCormick,
a veteran piano, guitar and ukulele teacher from Cypress, California.
With the help of her many contacts, the ABC School District, and Da Hawai'i Club
of the Cerritos Senior Center, she launched the Southern California Ukulele Festival
on October 19, 2002.
Drawing from a rich pool of local talent, Susan's first attempt at the festival
was a huge sucess. Efforts continue to improve SCUF and advance the Ukulele in
all of its many applications. |
